The investor undergoes Due Diligence to ensure the legal origin of the funds, absence of criminal records and problems with the law. Also, the investor should not be on sanctions lists. Typically, such a check lasts a week, but sometimes it can take up to a month if additional data or documents are required.
A resident visa holder must also apply for and obtain an Emirates ID card. Its validity period coincides with the validity period of the resident visa.
